Vegas Off The Strip: Lesser Known Casinos and Attractions
You probably already he a good idea of some of the bigger attractions in Las Vegas, the famous casinos and hotels that are always pictured in movies and shoes about Las Vegas. But the truth is, there's a whole lot more to discover in this famous gambling town. Head off the Strip to get a look at some lesser-known casinos and attractions in Las Vegas.
Have an Adventure
Las Vegas is a city and it definitely has a city look. But outside of Las Vegas, there's a lot of nature. Go hiking, horseback riding or mountain biking at Lake Mead or Red Rock Canyon if you have a taste for adventure. And if it's adrenaline you crave, you can race an exotic car while you're in Las Vegas.
See a Cool Museum
You can find museums in any big city in the world, but you won't find museums anywhere quite like the ones in Las Egas. Among the city's more interesting museums, you can visit the Neon Boneyard Museum where old signs go to die, the Hollywood Cars Museum Liberace Garage that's full of famous vehicles from TV and movies and the burlesque hall of fame, which is not to be missed.
Hidden Places to Eat
Las Vegas is a famous foodie town, with huge and glitzy celebrity restaurants dotting the landscape. But the locals know about those little hole-in-the-wall places, the lesser-known eateries that secretly have the best food. Grab a bite at Secret Pizza, which is always serving up New York-style pizza in the middle of the desert. Yaki-ba at Yui Sushi has only two tables and it is reservation-only, but it's totally worth it.
The Casinos
Head to the Orleans on West Tropicana Avenue for thousands of slot machines, video poker machines and video keno machines. There are a ton of table games and a very cool, low-key vibe here, too. The Plaza was once the place to be but now this is a historic little piece of old Vegas that is definitely worth a visit. Check out the 3D slots games before you leave. The D Las Vegas on Fremont Street has a little bit of everything and a very laid-back atmosphere that feels far away from those big, glitzy casino resorts.
Enjoying Las Vegas
You can do pretty much anything in Vegas, from indoor skydiving to escape rooms to golf. You can take a helicopter ride, enjoy nature, drop thousands of dollars on a single meal. Go explore the Las Vegas that not everyone gets to see and discover your own hidden attractions and secret little places.
